This covers freelancer invoices, small business debts, unpaid services, goods sold but not paid for, and loan repayments. For debts over £25,000 or regulated consumer credit agreements, we recommend consulting a solicitor.

You enter the details of your debt including who owes you, how much, when it was due, and what happened. Our AI then generates professionally worded documents that cite the correct UK legislation, including the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 and the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims.

What is a Letter Before Action?

A Letter Before Action (LBA) is a formal demand for payment that must be sent before starting court proceedings. It is required by the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims. The letter gives the debtor 30 days to respond and warns that court action will follow if payment is not made. Around 80% of debts are resolved after receiving a properly drafted LBA.

If the debtor does not respond or pay within 30 days of your LBA, you can escalate to court proceedings. GL Collect can generate the county court claim form (N1) and particulars of claim. For debts under £10,000, the claim is allocated to the small claims track. For debts between £10,000 and £25,000, the fast track applies.
